General Motors seeks a Principal Software Engineer to shape and scale the engineering platforms that build, test, integrate, validate, and deliver embedded software for software-defined vehicles. This hands‑on technical leader turns cross‑team problems into durable architecture and measurable improvements in quality and release confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field; 15+ years validating software systems.
• Deep understanding of software architecture for real time systems and safety‑critical products.
• Experience architecting large‑scale CI/CD, embedded test automation, and build‑to‑test pipelines.
• Expertise in variation management, change‑impact analysis, and risk‑based regression testing.
• Experience with test‑result data modeling, Databricks, analytics, data mining, and API development.
• Proficiency with Linux, Git, Python, Bash, Robot Framework, containers and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Lead a major capability across multiple teams and drive architecture decisions.
• Define/modernize automated, headless test frameworks for multi‑environment testing.
• Integrate test execution, management, & diagnostics across CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve test robustness, speed, and deployment efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and communicate effectively across teams.
