Job summary
RISE Robotics in Somerville, MA is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design and optimization of embedded software for our robotic lifting platforms. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams, develop real-time control algorithms, and ensure reliability and safety across electromechanical systems.
This hybrid role requires hands-on coding in C/C++ and Python, with experience in CAN, SPI, I2C, UART and motion-control systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of electromechanical product software development experience.
- Experience with controls, motion systems and brushless DC motors.
- Ability to read datasheets, schematics and production process diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Embedded Software Development for robotic lift systems with focus on performance and safety.
- System Integration with hardware components across the RISE platform.
- Develop and optimize real-time control algorithms and sensor integration.
- Ensure reliability through testing and debugging of software modules.
- Maintain thorough documentation of software design, development and testing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
