Job summary

Curtiss‑Wright Defense Solutions in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer for an onsite role. You will design, develop, test embedded software including BSPs, device drivers, BIOS/U-Boot, and verification test software for DSP boards.

You will work with cross‑functional teams to meet MIL-STD requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in C/C++, Linux and VxWorks, and is capable of debugging complex systems while ensuring quality and traceability in a fast

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with C/C++, Linux (Red Hat), VxWorks device drivers.
• Experience with bootloaders (BIOS/SlimBootLoader/U‑Boot) and embedded test software.
• Ability to read IC datasheets and board schematics.
• U.S. citizenship and active DoD clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded computing software for DSP boards.
• Develop and integrate bootloaders, drivers, and test software.
• Diagnose advanced defects and cooperate with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate customer-reported issues and implement software enhancements.
