Northrop Grumman in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our Software Technologies group. You will develop and maintain C/C++ software for mission systems across the lifecycle, including testing with simulators and production hardware.

The position requires a BS in CS/CE or related STEM field and 5 years of embedded software experience, with U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
  • 5 years of related experience in embedded software.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Secret clearance is required to start and must be maintainable.
  • 4 years of experience with C/C++.
  • 4 years of experience with real-time embedded software.
  • 4 years of experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and modify existing software using modern development techniques.
  • Identify risks, mitigate issues, track defects, and report status.
  • Design, construct, and execute unit tests and verification test plans.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to test software on simulators and production hardware.
  • Engage in systems engineering reviews to ensure end-to-end requirements are met.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
