Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Embedded System Security Engineer to lead certification and accreditation efforts onsite in Largo, FL. You will decompose and allocate cybersecurity requirements, work with cross-functional teams, and help assess and mitigate security risks across DoD mission systems.

The role requires deep experience in RMF, DoD environments, and security documentation, with a focus on evolving threats and secure system design.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required before start date
• Direct experience in System Security Engineering
• Experience with RMF applied to mission systems used in disconnected DoD environments
• Technical writing skills and ability to develop security documentation
• Analytical skills to perform deep-dives into system requirements
• Familiarity with system models/diagrams to assess security risks
• Willingness to learn about satellite and communications security technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead system certification and accreditation efforts (RMF ATO, NSA Type 1)
• Decompose, allocate, implement and verify cybersecurity requirements
• Analyze system requirements, models and diagrams to identify security vulnerabilities
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate security into system design
• Maintain awareness of evolving threats and best practices
• Contribute to Security-focused System Verification and Validation (test plans/procedures)
