Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Melbourne, FL (hybrid) to architect and guide advanced embedded hardware for space and defense applications. Lead full hardware lifecycle from requirements to delivery with radiation-mitigation in mind.

You will work with cross-functional teams, customers, and leadership to ensure performance, reliability, and mission success, while shaping the technology roadmap and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• 9+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years with a Master's.
• Experience with mixed-signal PCA development and HDI PCBs.
• Experience with FPGA and microprocessor development using Verilog or VHDL.
• Experience with hardware integration, test, and debugging tools.
• Experience implementing PCI, PCIe, cPCI, VME, or VPX standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded hardware development across requirements, design, integration and test.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and customers.
• Perform design peer reviews and documentation.
• Support program execution and business development.
• Represent the engineering team in customer and vendor interfaces.
• Travel or off-site work as needed.
• Manage engineering discipline personnel.
• Cost Account Management.
• Other duties as assigned.
