Job summary

Trident Systems Space Electronic Systems (SES) division in Melbourne, FL seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead engineering teams in delivering advanced space-qualified systems. The role requires deep systems engineering expertise, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and proven leadership across R&D and product development programs.

You will guide program teams, drive technical decisions, and ensure successful design reviews, with opportunities to contribute to IR&D and new product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• MS degree in STEM field preferred.
• Proven experience leading complex spaceflight or aerospace hardware.
• Fluency across multiple technical domains and systems engineering methodology.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead a diverse engineering team in developing space RF, processing, networking, or data storage units.
• Own the systems engineering process and ensure requirements verification and validation.
• Act as program technical champion and primary point of contact (POC).
• Prepare for and present at major design reviews with customers.
• Support IR&D and new product initiatives planning.
• Assist in propelling proposals for new opportunities.
• Travel to Fairfax, Virginia HQ up to 25% as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
