Job summary

Trident Systems is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer in Melbourne, FL, hybrid, to lead embedded hardware solutions for space and defense applications. The role requires ownership of design authority and broad lifecycle expertise from requirements to delivery.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive high-speed mixed-signal designs, and ensure radiation mitigation, reliability, and performance. This senior IC/PCB authority shapes the technology roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
• 9+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience with mixed-signal PCA development and high-speed (>1 GHz) components.
• Experience with FPGA and microprocessor development and HDL languages.
• Experience with hardware integration, test, and debugging tools including scopes and logic analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded hardware development from requirements through integration and test.
• Serve as final technical review and sign-off for complex or first-of-kind designs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, program leadership, and customers.
• Support project execution and business development efforts as needed.
• Mentor discipline engineers and perform peer design reviews.
