Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, CO seeks a Principal Electronics Test Engineer I to design, analyze, and implement test plans for board-level electronics across power, digital, and RF domains. The role emphasizes hands-on testing, test automation, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams in a startup-like environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong hardware/software mix, experience with test architectures, and excellent communication to present design reviews and support proposals.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 9 years of industry or university research experience in design, analysis, and test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Programming or scripting experience, such as Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
• Plan and execute board-level verification tests, including high-speed signal integrity and power performance.
• Develop systems for testing complex hardware/software, such as phased array products.
• Write test software to interface with DUTs and test equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of in-house tools and templates.
• Develop test requirements for new products.
• Design and implement test architectures and data logging methods.
• Advise design-for-testability (DFT) and mentor technicians.
