Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX, is seeking a Principal Electronics Test Engineer I to design, analyze, and implement test plans for board-level electronics in our satellite and aerospace platforms.

You will lead test system architecture, write test software, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present results to customers and leadership. A strong hardware-software mix and DFT insight are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 9 years of industry or university research experience in design, analysis, and implementation of electronic products or test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and vector signal analyzers.
• Programming or scripting experience, such as Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
• Planning and executing board-level verification tests (high-speed signal integrity, digital link characterization, power-supply performance, temperature stability).
• Designing and developing testing systems for complex hardware/software (phased array radios, computers, antennas).
• Writing test software to interface with DUTs and test equipment.
• Contributing to in-house tools, test software, and documentation templates.
• Developing test requirements for new products and writing test plans/procedures.
• Developing test architectures and selecting equipment, fixtures, data logging, and interfaces.
• Advising design engineering on design-for-testability (DFT).
• Troubleshooting hardware/software issues; training technicians to perform tests.
• Designing tests for compliance with standards such as NASA GEVS.
