Job summary

CesiumAstro, based in Denver, seeks a Principal Electronics Test Engineer I to design and implement test plans for board-level electronics in satellite and aerospace systems. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to address test needs and develop automated test systems.

The role emphasizes hardware and software proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to guide design-for-test activities from early product development through validation stages.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 9+ years of industry or university research in design, analysis, and implementation of electronic products and/or test systems.
• Experience designing and executing test plans for custom board-level electronics.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF generators, etc.
• Programming or scripting experience, such as Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing and executing tests at prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
• Plan and execute board-level verification tests (high-speed SI, digital link, power, temp).
• Develop systems for testing complex hardware/software (radios, computers, phased arrays).
• Write test software to interface with DUTs and test equipment.
• Contribute to in-house tools, test software, and documentation templates.
• Develop test requirements for new products.
• Write hardware test plans and procedures.
• Develop test architectures and data logging interfaces.
• Advise design engineers on design-for-testability (DFT).
• Troubleshoot and debug hardware and software issues.
• Train technicians and operators to perform tests.
• Design tests for compliance with NASA GEVS.
