Job summary

Nbutexas is seeking a Principal Electronics Design Engineer in California to lead electrical design of FPGA, board, and system-level hardware, and to develop specifications from customer requirements. You will present designs at technical reviews and supervise integration and testing.

The ideal candidate holds a BSEE with 10+ years in electronic systems, with expertise in GNSS, Ethernet/PTP, HDL-based FPGA work, and team leadership. Citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• BSEE with 10+ years of experience in the design and development of electronic systems.
• Systems engineering experience with internal and external customers to develop hardware/software requirements, solutions, and documentation for new products.
• System design and development using embedded GNSS and M-Code/SAASM GPS receivers.
• Network design including Ethernet and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
• Experience in embedded microprocessor systems.
• FPGA design using a hardware description language.
• Schematic capture experience.
• Experience leading engineering development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.

The firm is seeking a Principal Electronics Design Engineer to design and develop electronic systems.

Responsibilities:

• Present product design solutions to customers at technical design reviews.
• Electrical design of FPGA, board, and system-level hardware. Support PWB layout activities.
• Create system, sub-system, interface, and protocol specifications from external and internal requirements.
• Support the creation of production and engineering test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Supervise product integration, verification, and validation testing.

Salary: Up to 190k base (can go higher for the right person)
