Job summary

FEI - Zyfer, Inc. seeks a senior electrical engineer to design and deliver hardware for GNSS-enabled systems. You will present solutions at design reviews and drive FPGA, PCB, and system-level work.

The role requires a BSEE with 10+ years, embedded GNSS experience, HDL/FPGA skills, and leadership of engineering teams. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES

• Present product design solutions to customers at technical design reviews.
• Electrical design of FPGA, board, and system-level hardware. Support PWB layout activities.
• Create system, sub-system, interface, and protocol specifications from external and internal requirements.
• Support the creation of production and engineering test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Supervise product integration, verification, and validation testing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The applicant MUST have the following qualifications:

• BSEE with 10 or more years of experience in the design and development of electronic systems.
• Systems engineering experience working with internal and external customers to develop hardware and software requirements, solutions, and documentation for new products.
• System design and development using embedded GNSS and M-Code/SAASM GPS receivers.
• Network design experience including Ethernet and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
• Experience in the design of embedded microprocessor systems.
• FPGA design experience using a hardware description language.
• Schematic capture experience.
• Experience leading engineering development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship

Additional Desirable Experience

• Sensor fusion design combining GPS receivers and navigation sensors.
• Experience in the design and development of precise time and frequency reference systems.
• RF and Low noise design experience.
• EMC/EMI design experience.
• Experience in the design of embedded systems including SoC, SoM, & ASIC.
• Reliability engineering including reliability predictions (MTBF) and Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
• Security Clearance.
