Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead power and analog electronics for aerospace and defense applications. You will shape architecture, drive detailed design, verification, and field sustainment across multiple programs, acting as a technical authority and mentor to engineers.

The role is on-site in El Segundo, CA, requiring the ability to set design direction, resolve complex hardware challenges, and ensure high-reliability performance from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex power and analog electronics for aerospace/defense/high-reliability systems.
• Expert understanding of DC/DC conversion, regulation, protection, sequencing, and power distribution.
• Strong analog front-end design, low-noise techniques, grounding, shielding, and sensor interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for power electronics and analog board design across programs.
• Lead architecture trades for power distribution, DC/DC, sensing, and monitoring circuitry.
• Schematic design and simulation for power electronics and analog circuits.
• Resolve cross-disciplinary technical issues involving power, EMI/EMC, and system integration.
• Guide PCB layout for low-noise analog design and high-current power paths.
• Lead design margin evaluation, thermal analysis, and failure analysis for mission-critical hardware.
• Serve as authority for hardware integration, verification, and field support.
