Job summary

Viking Enterprise Solutions (VES), part of the Sanmina family, seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead complex electronics programs across EVT through Production. The role includes guiding teams, shaping architectures, and ensuring timely, high-quality product launches in server/storage domains.

Responsibilities include signal integrity, FPGA/CPLD work, and collaboration with operations and customer teams to optimize performance and costs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent engineering degree.
• 15+ years of experience in system level product development.
• Server and/or storage systems experience highly desired.
• Experience with high-speed signal design and simulation (SAS4, SATA, NVMe, PCIeGx, DDR, etc).
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, TDR, power equipment).
• Strong bring-up/debug experience on boards and system designs (EVT/DVT/PVT).
• Experience with programmable logic (FPGA/CPLD).
• Familiar with simulation tools (PSPICE, ModelSim, Ansys).
• Ability to analyze datasets from test plans and customer requests.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office and component cost bases.
• Experience collaborating with US and international manufacturing partners.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts across EVT, DVT, PVT, and Production/Sustaining for complex electronics.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and set project direction.
• Articulate goals and intents for work products to teams.
• Influence organization for successful product launches.
• Drive schedules and baselines for tasks and milestones.
• Validate delivered work matches project needs.
• Lead problem solving and systemic improvements.
• Proactively assist customers in resolving issues in their environments.
• Collaborate with Operations to optimize costs and yields.
• Interface with customer development teams on architecture.
