Job summary

Consumers Energy in Jackson, MI is seeking a Principal Electric Engineer to lead large, complex electrical projects ensuring reliable, sustainable distribution, generation, and storage system performance.

You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and external stakeholders, provide SME guidance in subtransmission and HVD design, and drive asset health initiatives with Lean practices. Travel to Parnall is required weekly.

Qualifications

• ABET-credentialed engineer with PE preferred.
• Experience in distribution planning and HV design.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of electrical systems for large projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure installations meet standards and customer requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and budget estimates.
