Job summary

Sedaa Corporation seeks a Principal Critical Facility Architect with electrical engineering expertise to lead design and implementation of power systems, backup power, and facility upgrades for client data centers and IT facilities. The role requires licensure as a California Electrical Engineer and strong leadership across engineering and project teams.

The position is hybrid, with work from a remote office and a local site approximately two days per week, and compensation in a broad salary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10 years IT engineering design experience or a Master’s degree with 8+ years.
• Experience in multi-tier enterprise technology environments.

Responsibilities

• Directs critical facility team in preparation of battery, power board, generator, facility alarming, and facility upgrades by utilizing subject-matter expertise.
• Oversees power system architecture and design of technology solutions supporting business requirements on projects.
• Engages with clients to develop power solutions and ensure delivery is aligned with the requirements in technical/logic design.
• Provides advanced consulting and guidance of the power system requirements during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects.
• Ensures the successful implementation of power systems in complex client environments, larger scale, and cross-functional new/enhanced systems on time, in scope and within budget.
• Leads integration of client requirement into and works with critical facility team to create power system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts.
• Identifies and implements process improvements at the department level.
• Presents power system project scopes and budgets and makes recommendations to high level leaders for project/program approval.
• Identifies the developmental needs of others, and coaches and mentors others to improve their knowledge or skills.
• Partners with critical facility team to develop and maintains all technical standards, design patterns, reference architectures and roadmaps for a Reference Architecture Framework containing a broad collection of foundational services.

Overview Grid Platforms and Network is a unified organization made up of multiple departments that work together to provide essential technology solutions for CLIENT's business partners.

Position Summary

Principal Critical Facility Architect provides technical leadership in design, development and implementation of backup power systems, comm rooms, data/control centers and alarm system deliverables. Primary role is electrical design of power systems within CLIENT facilities, thus a State of California Registered Profession Electrical Engineer is required. This includes electrical design at data centers, comm rooms in offices and service centers and mountain top comm locations. As well as primary power design this position also handles backup power including generators, backup batteries and 48 VDC power plant. Lastly the critical facility architect will manage building upgrades/replacements for IT operated facilities. Henceforth the primary power plants, backup power plants, and building infrastructure will be referred to a "power systems". Provides budgetary estimates for power systems for client and IT projects, works with other architect teams to ensure power systems meet operational needs. Works with corporate real estate and land agents on site selection, specifying IT power needs in shared facilities. Sets technical direction and operational feasibility of power system solutions that are part of IT network architecture and services standards, to meet clearly defined technical performance requirements. Evaluates the need for new power solutions, collaborates with the architect teams to create prototypes and standards. Acts as technical lead for critical facility team, engineering team and project management teams implementing projects within the critical facility programs and client projects. All employees are responsible for performing their jobs in accordance with CLIENT PG&E’s vision and values.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and an office within the service territory to be determined approximately 2 days per week based on business needs or company requirements. CLIENT is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity,specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.

The range to reasonably expect will be around the minimum and the midpoint $155,000 - $210,000. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in CLIENT’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
• 10 years experience in IT-Information Technology engineering design
• OR Master’s degree and 8 years of experience in IT engineering design and/or technical project implementation
• Experience with multi-tier enterprise technology environments
• Experience in enterprise architecture environments, job-related
