Position Summary

PG&E is seeking a Principal Critical Facility Architect – Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design, development, and implementation of critical power infrastructure supporting IT and communication facilities.

This role is responsible for electrical engineering design of data centers, communication rooms, network facilities, and remote communication sites, including primary power systems, backup generators, battery systems, 48VDC power plants, and facility alarm systems. The position also leads facility upgrades, modernization projects, and infrastructure standards across enterprise technology environments.

A California Registered Professional Electrical Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of:
• Electrical power systems
• Battery systems and UPS
• 48VDC power plants
• Facility monitoring and alarm systems
• Provide technical leadership for critical facilities, data centers, communication rooms, and remote telecom sites.
• Develop power system architectures, engineering standards, specifications, and design documentation.
• Create cost estimates, budgets, and project scopes for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams, project managers, real estate teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Establish technical standards, reference architectures, and long-term infrastructure roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across teams.
• Drive process improvements and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, IT infrastructure, or technical project implementation.
• Experience supporting enterprise technology environments.
• Strong background in critical facility power systems and electrical infrastructure.
