Job summary

Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Principal Design Reliability Engineer (Electrical) to establish and own the design reliability standards across a rapidly growing aerospace organization.

You will lead the development of qualification frameworks, review hardware designs, and implement MIL-STD-810/DO-160 based processes, with founding-engineer level influence and equity opportunities as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Extensive hardware development experience in aerospace.
• Ability to establish design reliability standards and qualification frameworks.
• Proven track record in moving complex products from requirements to production.

Responsibilities

• Define and own design processes and engineering standards.
• Establish standardized processes for requirements capture and review.
• Lead and improve design reviews (PDRs/CDRs) and gate reviews.
• Develop hardware design guides based on best practices and heritage.
• Set up design release and configuration management across CAD/PCBAs.
• Define qualification standards and test strategies per aerospace standards.
• Identify risks early and guide engineers to resolution without slowing development.
• Support root-cause investigations when hardware fails in qualification.
