Johnson Controls is seeking a Principal Electrical Applications Engineer to support the design and sale of advanced HVAC chiller systems. You will translate customer requirements into robust, compliant electrical designs and serve as a key technical partner to sales, engineering, and product teams.

This onsite role is based at the Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA, with an alternate location in San Antonio, TX. 20% travel may be required for factory and field visits.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical applications engineering.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and commercial HVAC context.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits.

Mansioni

• Provide pre-sale electrical engineering support to internal sales teams and customers.
• Develop and review electrical system designs for HVAC chiller applications (power distribution, one-line diagrams, control schematics).
• Apply NEC, UL, and regulatory codes to ensure compliant solutions.
• Perform detailed calculations: wire sizing, ampacity, overcurrent protection, transformer sizing.
• Collaborate with product engineering, contract engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
• Troubleshoot field electrical issues and assist with commissioning and compliance questions.
