Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Principal EDA R&D Engineer to pioneer next-gen hardware formal verification tools in Austin. You will lead research, architecture, and development of core engines enhanced by Agentic AI frameworks, crafting autonomous AI agent networks to extend formal tools.

You will influence algorithms, multi-agent coordination, and high-performance C/C++ implementations, delivering production-grade EDA solutions and scalable verification workflows.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional R&D experience building commercial or advanced academic EDA hardware verification tools.
• Deep mathematical and hands-on understanding of formal methods (BMC, IC3/PDR, abstract interpretation, theorem proving).
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ (Modern C++17/20) with focus on high-performance data structures, memory optimization, and multi-threading.
• Proven experience building or researching Agentic AI pipelines and multi-agent frameworks (LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI), tool-use execution, and prompt-engineering for structured code/hardware descriptions.
• Experience with RTL languages (SystemVerilog, VHDL, Verilog) and SVA understanding.

Responsibilities

• Architect, construct, and advance new formal verification algorithms (Model Checking, SAT/SMT, BDDs, Equivalence Checking, Theorem Proving).
• Design, develop, and deploy multi-agent AI systems that autonomously analyze RTL topologies, partition design spaces, and tune solver parameters.
• Develop intelligent orchestration where autonomous agents collaborate to bypass state-space explosion for multi-billion-gate builds.
• Create engines to ingest, abstract, and generate complex SVA from natural language specs and architectural intent.
• Drive features from research to implementation in high-performance C/C++ environments and integrate into commercial EDA tool suites.
