Job summary

Hamilton Lane Advisors, LLC seeks a Principal to lead the Direct Credit Team, guiding strategy and deal execution for high‑quality private credit investments. You will mentor mid‑level and junior professionals, manage relationships with banks and GPs, and coordinate cross‑functional efforts in fundraising and investor meetings.

You’ll review credit documents, negotiate terms, and monitor portfolio performance, contributing to firm‑wide initiatives and representing the Direct Credit platform

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience performing credit risk and investment analysis.
• Experience or exposure to credit secondaries transactions.
• Track record of mentoring and leading multi-level teams.
• Strong credit background across underwriting, monitoring, legal negotiation and restructuring.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategy, growth and evolution of the Direct Credit Platform with team leaders.
• Lead deal teams conducting diligence and credit risk analysis on credit secondaries and direct lending.
• Develop and maintain bank and GP relationships for primary and secondary sourcing.
• Expand platform’s credit secondaries capabilities and network.
• Make investment recommendations to the Credit Investment Committee.
