Job summary

Draper is seeking a Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFX) Engineer to contribute to mission-critical systems in aerospace and defense. You will collaborate with layout, design, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to apply DFM/DFA best practices early in development.

The role requires hands-on microelectronics packaging experience for high-reliability applications and familiarity with MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-38535.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in Product Engineering or related areas.
• Experience with microelectronics packaging for high-reliability or aerospace applications is preferred.
• U.S. security clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD to create product concepts and packaging layouts.
• Review manufacturability and lead design reviews.
• Collaborate with layout, design, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Provide feedback to improve product integrity and performance.
• Develop and teach best practices to engineers.
