Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking a Principal DevSecOps Engineer / Lead to provide platform engineering leadership for a DoW modernization program. Hybrid in Washington, DC, 40 hrs/wk, 9:00–3:00 ET, US citizenship and DoD clearance required. Compensation ranges from $250,000 to $275,000 annually.

The role oversees IaC, CI/CD in GitLab, and security evidence generation, while guiding DevSecOps and SRE teams to deliver secure, scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of DevOps/platform engineering experience.
• Experience leading CI/CD pipelines and IaC for federal systems.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud and Kubernetes.
• Active Secret clearance or higher.

Job description

Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking an experienced Principal DevSecOps Engineer / Lead to provide platform engineering leadership for a mission application modernization program supporting a Department of War (DoW) customer. This position is contingent upon contract award.

In this critical leadership role, you will oversee infrastructure as code, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, environment promotion, and automated security evidence generation. You will also provide technical direction to the DevSecOps engineer and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), establishing release engineering and observability standards across the modernized platform and sustained applications.

This opportunity is ideal for an accomplished DevSecOps professional with extensive experience supporting federal systems who thrives in complex, security-focused environments and enjoys leading engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.

Platform Engineering Leadership

• Own infrastructure as code (IaC), the CI/CD pipeline within the customer's GitLab environment, environment promotion from Impact Level 4 (IL4) to Impact Level 5 (IL5), and the security and compliance evidence generated with every code merge.
• Direct the DevSecOps engineer and both Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), providing technical leadership and establishing release engineering and observability standards for the platform and sustained applications.
• Own and coordinate the environment plan with the customer's cloud provider, including management of the Government dependency list for accounts, access, and infrastructure.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 12 years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) for federal systems.
• Experience supporting federal systems using AWS GovCloud and Kubernetes.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with OpenTofu, Helm, GitLab CI, Envoy, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with automated Department of Defense security authorization evidence generation.
• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• Tier 5 eligibility if privileged administration is required.

Work Location and Schedule

Location: Hybrid in the Washington, DC Metro Area

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern.

Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow for an earlier start.

Compensation: $250K to $275K
