Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Software DevOps Developer to join a high‑performing team modernizing the FAA TFDM platform. The role requires expertise in Java/C++/Python, DevOps/GitOps, containerization, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and AWS cloud development.

Travel up to 25% to airports across the country; location is Gaithersburg, MD with a 3/2 hybrid onsite/work-from-home schedule. You will architect, design, and implement next‑gen applications and guide AI‑assisted development initiatives.

Qualifications

12+ years of full lifecycle development experience
7+ years GitOps/DevOps/DevSecOps
7+ years of software development in Java, C++, or Python
Experience with AI‑assisted development tools
Experience in Agile environments
US Citizenship or Permanent Residency with ability to obtain Public Trust
Willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, and implement TFDM using modern software engineering practices, CI/CD, IaC, containerization, and AI‑driven development
Provide hands-on experience integrating enterprise CI/CD for customers
Offer architectural oversight for software development, testing, security, and deployment
Mentor teams in SOA, security, CI/CD, containerization, UX, and tool integrations
Investigate and repair defects across CI/CD, frontend, and backend components
Brief executives on significant program matters with clear written/oral communication
