Job summary

Bitsight is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to shape how we build and run our cloud platform. You’ll sit at the intersection of architecture and hands‑on delivery, working with stakeholders to set infrastructure direction and invest accordingly.

You’ll lead platform problems brought by R&D teams, leaving patterns that others can reuse without you, and mentoring DevOps and backend engineers along the way.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, SRE or DevOps roles, with at least 3 at staff or principal level setting technical direction.
• AWS expertise (EKS, RDS, S3, IAM) and working knowledge of GCP or Azure.
• Strong Terraform skills and building reusable modules adopted by other teams.
• Production Kubernetes experience, including Helm, GitOps workflows and cluster lifecycle management.
• Experience owning uptime for production systems, including on‑call and incident command.
• Clear written communication; ability to write architecture proposals understood by leadership and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own platform architecture and infrastructure decisions across AWS; growth into GCP/Azure.
• Set and meet SLOs for core services; lead incident response and post‑mortems.
• Operate Kubernetes at scale (EKS) with capacity planning and access models.
• Build reusable IaC with Terraform modules used by product teams.
• Lead AI platform infra; manage internal AI gateway and model policy.
