Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer for the Cortex platform in a hybrid, multi-region GCP and AWS environment. You will architect, scale, and optimize our vast cloud infrastructure while defining engineering standards and IaC practices.

In this high-impact role, you will lead DevOps and SRE initiatives, champion cost-efficiency, and drive platform reliability. You will mentor engineers and push for proactive, observable systems across global regions.

Qualifications

10+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Architecture with production ownership.
GCP or AWS with multi-region architectures.
Kubernetes (GKE/EKS) expertise and cloud-native ecosystem.
Python or Go, Linux internals, scripting; Terraform modules.
Enterprise CI/CD and GitOps (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
Observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, PagerDuty.

Responsibilities

Architect global, multi-region cloud infrastructure strategy using IaC (Terraform).
Design robust, secure CI/CD workflows to accelerate Cortex delivery.
Optimize the global GCP footprint for performance and cost.
Influence product engineering and ensure containerization and observability.
Lead incident post-mortems and mitigate systemic outages.
Develop internal platforms and automated remediation pipelines.
Define the technical roadmap and mentor senior engineers.
