Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead deployment training, AI-enabled improvements, and adoption activities onsite. You will design, document, and facilitate solution deployment training for diverse participants.

You will establish sandbox environments for incubation, mentor teammates, and collaborate across teams to accelerate DevOps technology onboarding with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Practical experience in all aspects/phases the software engineering product lifecycle to include all phases of certification.
• Experience with DevSecOps.
• Experience with: GitLab, Git, CMake, MinGW, LynxOS, Coverity, Artifactory, Docker, Vista.

Responsibilities

• You will lead the design and implementation solution deployment training documentation.
• You will lead the facilitation of solution training events for various adoption participants.
• You will set-up and own sandbox environments for technology incubation and development.
• Leveraging AI in the improvement and innovation of our deployment activities (user guide, training, metrics, feedback, triage support, etc...)
• You will work across teams and departments to enable rapid onboarding of the Cert DevOps technology.
• You will mentor, train and onboard teammates.
• You will be a self-starter, able to multitask and manage unplanned events.
• You will use your organizational skills to keep track of everything.
• You will use your effective communication skills to keep engineering peers, leadership and customers up to date.
• You will use your problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills to support the team mission.
