Job summary

Collins Aerospace (RTX) is seeking an AI Infrastructure Engineer to lead the architecture and evolution of scalable AI infrastructure in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role is onsite with relocation assistance and involves enabling researchers and developers with secure, self-service environments and robust tooling.

Responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end AI platform capabilities, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and platform operations while collaborating with DT, ART, and AI/ML

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with extensive relevant experience (10+ years) or an advanced degree with 7+ years experience.
• Experience administering AI or compute-intensive infrastructure, including GPU servers and Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Linux, container runtimes, orchestration, and platform configuration.
• Experience operating within enterprise IT frameworks requiring security, compliance, and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of scalable AI infrastructure including GPU servers and Kubernetes clusters.
• Define technical vision and deliver standardized AI development platforms and workflows.
• Provide secure, self-service development environments, container platforms, and engineering tooling.
• Oversee end-to-end AI platform capabilities: containers, source control, CI/CD, developer tooling.
• Manage platform operations: accounts, access, backups, compliance, server configuration.
• Support and maintain on-prem and cloud-based environments within RTX’s DT ecosystem.
