Pay Philosophy

The typical starting salary range for this role ($108,000 - $135,000) is determined by various factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. The full salary range reflects the competitive market value and offers opportunities for growth as employees develop within the role. Some roles may include additional compensation such as commissions and bonuses, varying based on specific plans.

Hybrid location preference: Boston MA, Portsmouth NH, Seattle WA, Plano TX. 2 days in office.

Role Overview: As a Principal Data Strategist within the Data Office team, you will drive organizational transformation and support business goals through innovative data initiatives. You will manage project workstreams, embed data strategy into large priorities, and develop governance, privacy, security, and risk management practices. Your storytelling and communication skills will foster a data-driven culture among stakeholders and data consumers. You will research industry trends, communicate complex data concepts, and lead cross-functional teams to solve business challenges with data.

Responsibilities:

1. Set a data strategy vision by understanding emerging trends and business needs.
2. Develop enablement strategies to deliver value-driven use cases aligned with business needs.
3. Create a maturity strategy to advance data fundamentals, focusing initially on risk management and data privacy.
4. Present updates and align with senior leaders on the data vision and impact.
5. Define KPIs to measure the success of data initiatives.
6. Communicate progress and secure stakeholder buy-in.
7. Lead execution of large-scale data projects.
8. Partner with product owners, analysts, and engineers to enable initiatives.
9. Foster a data-driven culture to enhance data literacy and decision-making.
10. Champion data initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to design and execute strategies aligned with business goals.
2. Skilled in translating complex data strategies into compelling narratives.
3. Expertise in data governance, privacy, security, and risk management.
4. Knowledge of Data Analytics platforms, visualization techniques, and industry trends.
5. Proficient in creating high-quality presentations (e.g., PowerPoint).
6. Effective communicator to diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders.
7. Experience analyzing data to provide actionable recommendations.
8. Ability to manage complex, long-term projects involving multiple teams.
9. Strong knowledge of data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake).
10. BA/BS or Master’s degree in relevant fields; 5-7+ years of related experience.
