Job summary

Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead the full analytics lifecycle, from problem definition and model development through production deployment, monitoring, and business adoption.

You will build scalable, explainable predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI solutions across pricing, underwriting, claims, product, client/member, distribution, and portfolio decisions, while mentoring the analytics team and advancing MLOps and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building predictive models, ML/AI solutions, or production analytics systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with production-quality analytical solutions.
• Expertise in model validation, calibration, explainability, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, deployment, and monitoring of predictive models and AI solutions.
• Advance MLOps practices including testing, CI/CD, and governance.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver measurable value.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership for Predictive Analytics.
