Job summary

Capital Group in Southern California seeks a Principal Data Product Manager within the Enterprise Data Office to lead data components of strategic investment initiatives. You will translate business outcomes into scalable data solutions supporting investment research, portfolio construction, risk analytics, and decision-making.

You will collaborate with capability leaders, product managers, architects, engineers, data leaders, and external providers to identify and operationalize data

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in investment data, investment technology, product management, analytics, or related disciplines.
• Deep understanding of investment processes: portfolio management, research, quantitative investing, risk, analytics.
• Expertise in enterprise data management and modern data platforms; able to work with architects and platform teams.
• Experience across multiple investment data domains: market data, security master, benchmarks, holdings, transactions, performance, risk, analytics.
• Proven ability to translate complex business outcomes into actionable data requirements and delivery plans.
• Experience with leading data providers and modern data technologies (MSCI, Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Embrace AI as a core part of work; applying AI to improve analysis, profiling, documentation, validation, or delivery.

The Enterprise Data Office enables Capital Group’s most critical business capabilities through trusted, scalable, and reusable data solutions. We work across the firm to accelerate business outcomes, improve data accessibility and quality, and advance the use of AI in how data is discovered, managed, and consumed.

As a Principal Data Product Manager within the Enterprise Data Office, you will lead the data components of Capital Group’s most strategic and complex Investment Group initiatives. Working across multiple data domains, platforms, and industry-leading providers, you will translate business outcomes into scalable data solutions that support investment research, portfolio construction, risk management, analytics, and decision-making.

You will work with Investment Group capability leaders, product managers, architects, engineers, data leaders, and external providers to identify, source, profile, validate, and operationalize the data required to achieve business outcomes. You will connect business priorities to data requirements, resolve complex cross-domain dependencies, and drive and coordinate delivery across teams, platforms, and organizational boundaries.

You will help define, shape, and validate the data capabilities that support some of Capital Group’s most important investment decisions.

We are looking for a leader who combines deep investment-domain expertise, strong data management, data platform, data delivery expertise, and an AI-first mindset. You will champion AI-enabled ways of working while helping define, prioritize, and validate the next generation of AI-powered capabilities that improve the speed, consistency, quality, and scale of Data Product Management across the Enterprise Data Office.

• You possess strong expertise in enterprise data management, modern data platforms, and solutioning, and can effectively work with architects, engineers, and platform teams to deliver business outcomes
• You have experience working across multiple investment data domains, including market data, security master, benchmarks, holdings, transactions, performance, risk, research, and analytics.
• You have successfully translated complex business outcomes into actionable data requirements, delivery plans, and measurable results
• You have experience working with leading investment data providers, analytics platforms, and modern data technologies such as MSCI, Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable solutions
• You embrace AI as a core part of how work gets done and have applied AI technologies to improve analysis, profiling, documentation, validation, or delivery outcomes

Southern California Base Salary Range: $208,245-$354,017

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
