Job summary

Intuit seeks a Distinguished Engineer to own the data substrate and semantic data infrastructure, spanning ingestion, storage, processing, governance, and ontologies. Qualifications

• 15+ years building large-scale data platforms with regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Hands-on expertise across the modern data stack: distributed storage/compute, streaming, orchestration, lineage, and cloud data services.
• Experience designing semantic or knowledge layers for ML/LLM systems and connecting them to product outcomes.
• Prior work as Distinguished Engineer/Fellow/Principal Architect with artifacts shaping large orgs.
• Fluency in data privacy and governance requirements (GDPR/CCPA) in architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and evangelize the multi-year technical strategy for data platform and semantic infrastructure.
• Architect the next generation of data substrate: ingestion, lakehouse design, quality, lineage, privacy-by-design.
• Design the semantic layer with canonical entities, metric definitions, ontologies, and knowledge graphs.
• Resolve cross-cutting technical problems that span teams and boundaries.
• Set standards, reference architectures, and run architecture reviews for major initiatives.
• Partner with product, data science, privacy/legal to translate requirements into durable designs.
• Mentor Staff/Principal engineers and help build career ladders and skill expectations.
• Identify future risks and roadmap to handle growth, regulation, and AI workloads.
