Job summary

Gather AI is building a groundbreaking data platform to power its drone-enabled warehouse intelligence. You will architect the data foundation from the ground up, separating analytical workloads from production traffic and defining a semantic layer for consistent metrics across dashboards.

As Principal Data Engineer, you will lead end-to-end data foundation design, link structured records to drone imagery with full traceability, and enable data infra readiness for feature stores and annotation

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering with AI/product data focus.
• Led greenfield data warehouse projects and migrations.
• Strong SQL and dbt skills with ELT/OLAP experience.
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP ok).
• Experience building multi-tenant, governed data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect a greenfield multi-layer data warehouse (raw, refined, serving).
• Deliver a governed, self-service data layer for internal consumers.
• Define a semantic layer with consistent metrics across dashboards.
• Ensure high availability, traceability, and data security across tenants.
• Stand up data catalog and lineage with Purview/DataHub.
• Integrate structured data with unstructured drone imagery and video.
