Job summary

The Phoenix Group is seeking a Platform Engineer to advance our enterprise data platform in the US. You will manage cloud data warehouses, build scalable ingestion and transformation workflows, and shape data strategy to enable analytics, BI, and AI applications.

As a hands-on engineer, you will optimize security, reliability, and cost, collaborate with data owners and engineering teams, and contribute to semantic layers and knowledge graphs to empower data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform administration, or enterprise BI.
• 2+ years administering cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift at scale.
• Hands-on experience with multi-account/multi-tenant cloud data environments and access control.
• Strong SQL skills with Python or Bash for automation and data transformation.
• Experience with data ingestion/ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, HVR, Matillion, dbt, Coalesce, Postman).
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tech and agent-based architectures; Snowflake Cortex exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary administrator for enterprise cloud data warehouses, managing access, security configurations, and platform operations.
• Monitor and optimize performance, security, reliability, and costs while upholding SLAs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using CDC, ETL/ELT, API integrations, and batch ingestion methods.
• Develop curated datasets, semantic views, and data models for reporting, visualization, analytics, and AI apps.
• Collaborate with data owners, engineering, and analytics stakeholders to onboard data sources and establish ingestion standards.
• Assist with deployment, testing, and monitoring of AI-enabled solutions including LLMs and AI agents; ensure integration with workflows.
• Work with architecture/data teams on semantic layers and ontology initiatives to improve data access and AI-driven querying.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for platform architecture, procedures, security, and best practices.
• Research emerging data platform features and drive adoption into production environments.
