Job summary

RMI is seeking a Principal, Power Systems & Data Centers to lead cross‑program strategy and advisory work for data centers. The role integrates capabilities across Electricity, Buildings, Industries, and Climate Finance to shape market offerings and client engagements.

Based in the United States, the principal will build relationships with hyperscalers, utilities, developers, and regulators, translating complex questions into executable delivery plans and scalable impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data centers, digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure, or related sector.
• Experience leading senior-client engagements.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems and deliver executive recommendations.
• Experience developing new offerings and contributing to proposals.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RMI’s theory of change for data centers and energy transition.
• Lead cross-program engagements and assemble multidisciplinary teams.
• Translate client questions into structured workstreams and deliverables.
• Build relationships with hyperscalers, utilities, and developers.
• Guide production of decision-grade client deliverables and presentations.
