Job summary

Google's AI2 team is seeking a Principal Engineer to define the strategic and technical direction for PIE Robotics roadmap and to lead the development of data center robotic automation systems. You will drive end-to-end deployment of AMRs, AGVs, and multi-axis robotic arms for handling delicate data center hardware, working with executives and external partners.

The role requires leading robotics applications, turning R&D into deployed systems, and delivering scalable, reliable hardware

Qualifications

PhD in robotics or related field or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of robotics systems engineering or architecture experience.
Experience in robotics industry, leading robotics applications development and deployment to real-world systems.
Experience in robotic control, planning, kinematics, and mechatronic systems.

Responsibilities

Scope and develop advanced robotics automation solutions for data center hardware.
Collaborate with executive leadership on AI2's data center robotics strategy and ecosystem development.
Source and deploy latest robotics and AI technologies within AI2 to meet business needs.
Lead engineering execution and provide technical leadership for AMRs, AGVs, and robotic arms in data centers.
