Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a Principal Engineer for the CHS HW Sys design team. You will lead hardware projects from architecture to production, guiding cross‑functional groups across IC design, software, test and manufacturing.

You will drive advanced hardware methodologies, optimize system performance, and oversee power delivery, signal integrity, and validation across 112G/224G SerDes, PCIe Gen5/Gen6, and high‑speed interfaces, delivering scalable production solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 15+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Technical leadership across the full hardware development lifecycle.
• Lab measurement and test equipment experience (high‑bandwidth scopes, VNA/TDR, BERT, power analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware projects from architecture through production.
• Develop and drive advanced hardware design methodologies and flows.
• Lead system‑level design optimization and resolve complex issues.
• Provide technical leadership for SI/PI, feasibility, characterization and validation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality production solutions.
• Coordinate design handoff to ODM and support volume production.
• Mentor teams and drive innovation, IP, and process improvement.
• Define platform architecture for performance, power, density and TCO.
• Lead high‑current power delivery design and validation.
• Lead high‑speed interfaces (PCIe SerDes, CXL, Ethernet).
• Drive DFx and RAS for 24x7 data center deployment.
• Lead bring‑up, debug of new AI SoCs and platforms.
