Rocky Mountain Institute is seeking a Principal for Power Systems & Data Centers to lead cross-program strategy and advisory work for the rapidly growing data center sector. The role requires translating strategy into market offerings and building relationships with priority partners and clients, while guiding complex cross-program engagements.

The position sits in Impact Consulting - Delivery Excellence and demands strong data center expertise, strategic judgment, and the ability to mobilize

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure, or closely related sectors.
• Proven strategy development and execution in evolving markets.
• Experience leading senior-client-facing consulting or advisory engagements.
• Ability to translate technical information into executive recommendations.

Responsabilités

• Serve as accountable engagement leader for large, strategic data center projects spanning multiple programs.
• Translate client questions into structured workstreams, hypotheses, and analyses.
• Assemble and lead multidisciplinary teams across the Institute.
• Maintain accountability for project scope, timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Synthesize inputs into clear, executive-level recommendations.
• Lead executive client meetings, workshops, and presentations.
• Identify risks early and shape follow-on opportunities.
