Job summary

Covetus, LLC is seeking a Principal Data Architect (Chief Data Office) to lead scalable data architectures across Irving, TX and Charlotte, NC in a hybrid model. You will drive data modeling, security, and integration patterns for batch, streaming, and AI workloads, partnering with engineering and teams to ensure robust data platforms.

The role demands hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, Java, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, APIs, and modern data pipelines, shaping enterprise data strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design scalable architectures using partitioning, sharding, replication, workload isolation, horizontal scaling.
• Experience architecting batch, streaming, event-driven, real-time, near-real-time, and API-based data integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of how workloads interact with enterprise data platforms (application, analytics, reporting).
• Hands-on with SQL, Python, Java, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, APIs, and data pipeline frameworks.
• Expertise in data modeling across conceptual, logical, physical, dimensional, and domain-driven models.
• Strong knowledge of data security architecture including encryption, tokenization, masking, access controls, audits.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern scalable data architectures for enterprise platforms.
• Design data models and integration patterns supporting AI/ML workloads.
• Evaluate non-functional requirements: latency, throughput, availability, observability, security.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to implement data solutions.
