Job summary

Target is seeking a Principal Engineer, Cybersecurity Incident Response to lead the technical strategy for incident response engineering across multiple portfolios. You will architect secure, scalable services, automations, and playbooks using Python, APIs, and cloud-native tech to accelerate triage and containment.

You’ll guide a high-performing team, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional stakeholders while delivering durable technology and process improvements in a hybrid work model

Qualifications

Advanced Python programming and software engineering skills.
Experience with REST APIs, containers, and cloud technologies.
10+ years of hands-on cybersecurity incident response experience.
Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Set the technical vision and architecture for incident response engineering.
Lead SecOps and SOAR capabilities including playbooks and workflows.
Provide hands-on incident commander support during complex investigations.
Partner with threat intel, detection, and digital forensics teams to scale capabilities.
