Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer for the SEIT team. On-site at Spectrum Center, you will design, implement, and assess cyber security controls across programs, aligning with RMF, DoD directives and NSA requirements.

Strong collaboration with engineers and customers is essential. Candidates must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+) or higher, maintain a current DoD Secret clearance, and possess the ability to translate complex concepts for

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+) or higher.
• U.S. citizenship required for government role.
• Experience translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
• Currently holding a DoD Secret clearance.
• Working knowledge of NSA programs and RMF/CMMC frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design and assess security controls and policies aligned with RMF/CMMC.
• Evaluate system security controls and identify weaknesses.
• Document certification activities, security plans, and POA&M updates.
• Maintain security tool configurations and centralized auth solutions.
• Provide advanced cyber infrastructure analysis and technical solutions.
• Lead reviews of requirements, designs, and deployment plans.
