Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a Principal Cyber Engineer to lead cyber development initiatives, integrating mission strategy with industry standards and emerging technologies.

The role involves agile project ownership, cross‑team collaboration, and delivering secure, scalable cyber solutions for government customers. Ideal candidates will have TS/SCI eligibility, 12+ years of experience, and a track record of oversight for complex cyber/IT programs.

Qualifications

• Requires Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility) and hands-on cyber development leadership experience.
• Minimum 12 years of experience with a CS/Engineering degree or 20 years of equivalent experience.
• Residency within 1 hour of Washington DC required.

Responsibilities

• Provide cyber management services to government agencies related to threats in Cyberspace Operations.
• Manage all technical aspects of cyber development projects using Agile methodologies.
• Support government exercises focused on Cyberspace Operations and develop training/documentation for software products.
• Provide technical oversight to identify risks and mitigate them.
• Advise on development processes and procedures for supporting test articles.
• Review testing to ensure standards compliance and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate on maintenance and feature development of proprietary software.
• Assist training of less experienced staff.
