Job summary

Magnendo Corp. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead perception and computer vision software across real-time and non-real-time systems, 3D sensing and medical imaging.

You will drive production-grade CV/ML algorithms, 3D reconstruction, and integration with robotics and hardware teams. Ideal candidates have 9+ years in CV, 3D sensing, and ML with production deployment experience in high-reliability environments.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in computer vision, 3D sensing, and ML, including medical or imaging modalities.
• Production software experience in high reliability environments, preferably regulatory.
• Collaborative, clear communicator with humility.
• Builds extensible, maintainable, high quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical direction of computer vision software, including image processing and 3D sensing.
• Design and implement production software for CV and ML algorithms (feature detection, segmentation, registration, monitoring).
• Develop 3D reconstruction using 3D sensors in complex environments.
• Translate ML models from research to production deployment.
• Supervise/coordinate with contractors; integrate their contributions into production system.
• Create highly testable architecture with unit and integration tests.
• Drive decisions using engineering analysis, simulation, prototyping, testing.
• Define requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria for CV/ML components.
• Collaborate with robotics, systems, and hardware engineers to integrate perception.
• Support risk analyses, design reviews, and root-cause investigations.
• Ensure development follows rigorous high reliability and V-model-like processes.
