Job summary

Boom Supersonic in Denver is seeking a Principal-Level engineer to own CNC machining processes for blisks, airfoils, and turbomachinery components. You will program 5-axis CAM, develop toolpaths, fixtures, and probing routines, set up difficult processes on the machine, and lead technically challenging projects.

You will mentor engineers and machinists, optimize cycle times and tool life, and help bring high-performance Inconel and titanium parts to production in a fast-paced aerospace

Qualifications

• Expert-level CNC programming with high-end CAM experience.
• Deep knowledge of CNC machines, controls, posts, macros and probing.
• Experience machining blisks, airfoils or turbomachinery hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own CNC machining processes for blisks, airfoils, and turbomachinery components.
• Program advanced 5-axis machining using CAM software.
• Develop toolpaths, tooling strategies, fixtures, posts, macros, and probing routines.
• Set up and prove out difficult processes directly on the machine.
• Diagnose and resolve problems involving program, tooling, fixture, or cutting conditions.
• Machine challenging materials like Inconel and titanium.
• Optimize cycle time, tool life, process capability, and machine utilization.
• Engineer processes for reliable, lights-out machining.
• Train and mentor engineers, programmers, machinists, and operators.
• Lead technically challenging projects.
