Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation of cloud‑hosted environments supporting ESS software and customer deployments in the United States Colorado.

The role blends software engineering with operations to improve service reliability, incident response, and toil reduction across AWS and Azure. You will lead Cloud Maturity Assessments, establish reliable observability standards, and drive cross‑functional

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, SRE, or Infra Administration.
Hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS production workloads.
Strong grounding in observability, metrics, logs, and traces.
Translate product operational gaps into a prioritized backlog and drive improvements with partner teams.
Scripting or automation languages (Python, Bash, Ansible, or PowerShell).

Responsibilities

Lead Cloud Maturity Assessments across products deployed on AWS and Azure, with executive reporting.
Define and implement reliability standards for observability and service health practices.
Facilitate cloud readiness reviews (FTR/WAFR‑style) and coordinate day‑2 improvements.
Apply SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, automation.
Lead post‑incident reviews to improve uptime and resilience.
