What you will do:

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), located in East Hartford Connecticut, is looking for a software/methods engineer with a passion for full stack development. The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance software which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.

  • Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization
  • Collaborate and regularly communicate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Architect and implement robust and scalable application infrastructure in a Cloud environment
  • Develop new applications, components, and pages that deliver an excellent user experience
  • Manage full stack applications in all stages of the software development lifecycle
  • Leverage software best practices to deliver high quality, maintainable code
  • Mentor and guide junior developers

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years’ experience OR an Advanced degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years’ experience
  • 4+ years of experience in software development
  • 1+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, NoSQL
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Hands on Cloud experience or certification, especially in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with JS Frameworks such as React and Vue
  • Experience with database technology such as SQL, NoSQL, or ORMs such as SQLAlchemy
  • Experience architecting serverless or event-based applications
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work as a team player
  • Possesses excellent business judgement and professional maturity

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
