UKG is seeking a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer responsible for building and maintaining the PaaS layer of our public/private cloud infrastructure. This role involves working with technologies such as Linux, Go, Ansible, Concourse, Kubernetes, GKE, GCP, and OpenStack. The engineer will collaborate with Agile teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of UKG software across cloud environments.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing and improving tools and services stack across the organization.
2. Maintaining and enhancing managed services like Kubernetes, MongoDB, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, and AlloyDB.
3. Building applications and services to support Product Development teams via a self-service portal.
4. Collaborating with development and engineering teams to identify gaps and requirements.
5. Troubleshooting issues, developing automation, and mentoring team members.
6. Leading engineering implementations and understanding impact across services.
7. Ensuring development aligns with UKG guidelines and industry best practices.
8. Documenting technical specifications and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, programming (Java, Golang, Ruby, Python), Linux platforms, and cloud-native solutions (GCP preferred).
• Experience with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitHub, Vault), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), scripting (Perl, Bash, Python, PowerShell), and networking.
• Experience deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available services, and with infrastructure test automation.
• Knowledge of microservices, SOA, REST, and SRE principles.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases, message queues, logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.

This position may involve work with the U.S. government; U.S. citizenship and security clearance are preferred.
