Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead cloud-native and Kubernetes initiatives within the Compute team. You will help evolve our managed Kubernetes product, scale services, and integrate open-source technologies for simple, secure cloud-native offerings.

You will mentor engineers, align architectural standards across teams, and partner with leadership to drive a cohesive cloud-native strategy across Akamai's platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience with cloud-native systems.
• Experience building and scaling managed services and Kubernetes platforms.
• Proficiency with container runtimes and orchestration tools.
• Strong Go, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Excellent mentoring and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide cross-team architectural oversight and strategic guidance for cloud-native efforts.
• Act as a unifying technical authority for cloud-native initiatives.
