Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Cranberry Township, PA, seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead design activities for structural steel and reinforced concrete. The role reports to the Structural Steel Senior Manager, Building Engineering & Physical Design, and is located at the global headquarters with a hybrid on-site requirement of two days per week.

The position requires a PE license, 10+ years of experience, and expertise with GT Strudl and major structural codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects.
• Familiarity with steel fabrication processes and design for fabrication.
• Proficiency with GT Strudl structural analysis tool.
• Knowledge of AISC N690 / Steel Manuals, AWS Welding and/or ACI codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis for steel structures including primary member design, bolted / welded connection designs, concrete anchorage
• Address technical issues related to fabrication, assembly, and construction phases of a civil/structural project. This includes technical justification of design changes and requires troubleshooting of emergent technical issues.
• Prepare drawing markups to support change packages
• On-Site support at multiple utilities and smaller projects.
• Provide engineering guidance and mentorship to assist team members in their development to support department and our goals

About the role:

As a Principal Structural Engineer you will support of design activities in the area of structural steel and reinforced concrete design.

You will report to the Structural Steel Senior Manager, Building Engineering & Physical Design and be located at global headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. The position is hybrid, you will be on site 2 days per week.

• Familiarity with steel fabrication processes, design for fabrication methods, supporting construction/installation activities for major steel structures.
• Proficiency with GT Strudl structural analysis tool
• Fluent to expert knowledge of AISC N690 / Steel Manuals, AWS Welding and/or ACI codes and standards

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
